Why We Love It
Luxury Lake Placid retreat with private shoreline, boathouse, and stunning lake views.
Description
The Peninsula at Lake Placid is set directly on the shores of Lake Placid, this extraordinary contemporary Adirondack retreat offers a seamless blend of luxury, comfort, and breathtaking natural surroundings. Built in 2018, with a striking new boathouse added in 2022, the home was designed by award-winning architect Michael Phinney and has been featured in prominent design magazines.
Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows (10 –14 feet high) line the lakeside, filling the home with natural light and framing stunning water views from nearly every room. Thoughtfully designed for year-round comfort, the property features in-floor radiant heat, whole-house air conditioning, and two indoor fireplaces—including one in the serene primary suite.
The interiors are as refined as they are inviting, with Roche Bobois furnishings and a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen equipped with Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Miele appliances. Ideal for gathering and entertaining, the home offers generous living spaces along with a dedicated game room and a private office with a sofa bed.
Outdoors, enjoy 200 feet of lakefront on a private bay, complete with a swim platform, kayaks, and paddleboards. The boathouse includes one slip with a hydraulic lift available upon request. Relax in the lakeside jacuzzi (seating six), dine al fresco at two outdoor dining areas (one beside the house and one atop the boathouse), or unwind by the large firepit under the stars.
The home comfortably accommodates larger groups with 2 luxurious master suites (both with walk-in closets), 2 guest bedrooms, and a bunk room with 6 beds—each bedroom featuring its own ensuite bathroom.
With private access to Peninsula trails and just a short 5-minute drive (or 30-minute walk) to the heart of Lake Placid, this one-of-a-kind property is the perfect base for experiencing the beauty and charm of the Adirondacks in every season.
