Enjoy a waterfront vacation with space for 8 guests along the shoreline of beautiful Lake Placid at High Peaks Lake House, which offers a one stop park and walk location! There is a private dock to launch a canoe or kayak and explore the lake or you may choose to stroll into the Village for a day of shopping, fun and entertainment. This rental sits in an ideal location within walking distance to the center of the Olympic Village with many venues, several varied eateries, a multi theater building, swimming in Mirror Lake Public Beach in the summer and tobagganing or skating on the same lake in the winter! Walk the quaint Main Street and browse through the many shops or visit the Olympic Arenas.

A short walk in the other direction will lead you to a grocery store, drugstore and an Art Center with shows and art displays. This great vacation rental is also close to the Peninsula nature trails for hiking, swimming, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Please inquire in advance about the 2 canoes or 4 SUP's that can be available for guest use at no charge and the additional rentals of more sporting equpiment including bikes, fishing equipment, xc skis, etc. from the HIgh Peaks Cyclery Gear Shop (owned by the homewoners of this property), where they can also provide assistance with planning great outdoor local adventures or set you up with a local guide. There is also a town trolley that travels throughout the Village with many on/off stops along the route that will bring you to different local points of interest.

This lovely home has a welcoming open floor plan for the fully equipped kitchen and  dining room with bench seating to accommodate all in your group. There is a spacious and comfortable living room with lots of seating and a games table, a den, 2nd dining area with amazing views and lots of windows for a bright and sun-filled interior atmosphere. There are 3 bedrooms with an extra room accessed off one of the bedrooms that holds 2 twin beds. Spend time relaxing on the front covered porch or the sweeping back yard with room for you to bring along a few yard games for some outdoor fun or kick back at the firepit to reminisce about your days activities. The back yard leads to a private dock on the shoreline of Lake Placid and presents mesmerizing lake and mountain views. 

A Pontoon boat is available for an additional charge. 

There is so much to do within walking distance from this great vacation rental and lots more offered in the surrounding areas! Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, skiing/snowboarding at nearby Whiteface Mountain Ski Center or any other outdoor activities, you are sure to find something to please everyone in your group and bring home lots of great memories!

Q.  What type of vacation rental properties do you offer?
A.  We offer a wide selection of vacation rental properties ranging from cozy cabins to luxury retreats.  We set very high-standards to enhance your vacation experience and ensure guest satisfaction.  All Engel & Volkers rental properties are well maintained in desirable locations, fully furnished and tastefully appointed.
Q. What are your office hours?
A. Our office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. six days a week, Sunday’s by appointment and available to handle issues 24/7.
Q.  Where and when do I check-in the day of my arrival?
A.  Check in time is 4:00 p.m. unless we have approved and earlier check-in time. Please stop by our office to pick up your key and complimentary welcome tote. If you plan to arrive after 5:00 p.m., kindly let us know and we will make arrangements with you for key pickup.  Engel & Volkers is conveniently located at 2284 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, NY 12946. 
Q.  When is departure time?
A. The check-out time is 10:00 a.m., sharp. If possible, we will grant late check-out requests on the day of departure. Please call us at least 48 hours in advance if you wish to extend your check-out. Please note that late check-outs are not always available due to reservation turnovers.
Q. Is there a cleaning fee?
A. Yes, there is a one-time cleaning fee that applies to every rental. This fee is based on the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and overall size of the property. If you’d like additional housekeeping during your stay, please call us to book a mid-stay clean.
Q.  Are linens and towels included?
A.  Yes, all of our vacation rental properties include linens and towels at the property for your use.
Q.  Are paper products, soaps and other household supplies included?
Our vacation rentals are furnished with a start-up supply of paper and soap products. This includes paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, garbage bags, a clean sponge and laundry soap. Some homes may also have a basic supply of spices, cooking oil and cooking spray.  Depending on how long your stay is and your level of usage, you may need to purchase more of these items at any of the local grocery stores.
Q.  Are washers & dryers available?
A. Yes, most of our properties have a washer and dryer available.
Q. Are pets permitted?
A. Some of our vacation properties accept pets and a pet deposit is required.  Please look for a pet friendly designation on our web-site or call us and we can help arrange suitable accommodations.
Q. Is smoking allowed in my rental property?
A. No, smoking is strictly prohibited in any of our vacation properties.
Q. Is there air-conditioning in my rental property?
A.  Most properties do not have air conditioning since the average daily high temperature tends to hover around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months.
