Description
This lovely Arts and Crafts renovated home has WiFi, HBO and lots of country charm! The dining room is great for family style meals and games; the spacious living room has a couch, futon, gas fireplace, and flat screen TV with DVD player. The modern eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for ease of dining at home and there is also a full bath and queen bedroom on the main floor. The upper floor holds a full bath, king bedroom with TV, bedroom with double/twin beds, a bedroom with 2 twins and room for an extra teen or child rollaway. There is also a baby port-a-crib and high chair. The sunporch has a futon, table for games, room for storing bikes in summer, skiis/snowboards in the winter and presents brook views in winter and small pond views with ducks in summer. The deck with gas grill, table and chairs overlooks the yard, woods and the pond/brook. The yard offers plenty of space for outdoor fun and the fire pit area is perfect for relaxing, campfires, roasting marshmallows and reminiscing after days spent exploring!
Take advantage of excellent local dining, mountain bike trails, challenging climbs, lakes/rivers for canoeing, kayaking and fishing or the free hiking, cross country ski and snowshoe trails less than a mile away in the Wilmington Wild Forest. Ski the Whiteface Landing trails to the shore of Lake Placid or fish in the famed Ausable River. The nearby town beach has swimming, playground, fishing/canoe access and the Olympic Village of Lake Placid with many venues, brew pubs, movies, shopping outlets and more is only a scenic 9 miles away.
Great location and year round sporting opportunities along with the rich culture and history of the region make Whiteface Cottage a great getaway destination in any season!

Q. What type of vacation rental properties do you offer?
A. We offer a wide selection of vacation rental properties ranging from cozy cabins to luxury retreats. We set very high-standards to enhance your vacation experience and ensure guest satisfaction. All Engel & Volkers rental properties are well maintained in desirable locations, fully furnished and tastefully appointed.
Q. What are your office hours?
A. Our office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. six days a week, Sunday’s by appointment and available to handle issues 24/7.
Q. Where and when do I check-in the day of my arrival?
A. Check in time is 4:00 p.m. unless we have approved and earlier check-in time. Please stop by our office to pick up your key and complimentary welcome tote. If you plan to arrive after 5:00 p.m., kindly let us know and we will make arrangements with you for key pickup. Engel & Volkers is conveniently located at
Q. When is departure time?
A. The check-out time is 10:00 a.m., sharp. If possible, we will grant late check-out requests on the day of departure. Please call us at least 48 hours in advance if you wish to extend your check-out. Please note that late check-outs are not always available due to reservation turnovers.
Q. Is there a cleaning fee?
A. Yes, there is a one-time cleaning fee that applies to every rental. This fee is based on the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and overall size of the property. If you’d like additional housekeeping during your stay, please call us to book a mid-stay clean.
Q. Are linens and towels included?
A. Yes, all of our vacation rental properties include linens and towels at the property for your use.
Q. Are paper products, soaps and other household supplies included?
Our vacation rentals are furnished with a start-up supply of paper and soap products. This includes paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, garbage bags, a clean sponge and laundry soap. Some homes may also have a basic supply of spices, cooking oil and cooking spray. Depending on how long your stay is and your level of usage, you may need to purchase more of these items at any of the local grocery stores.
Q. Are washers & dryers available?
A. Yes, most of our properties have a washer and dryer available.
Q. Are pets permitted?
A. Some of our vacation properties accept pets and a pet deposit is required. Please look for a pet friendly designation on our web-site or call us and we can help arrange suitable accommodations.
Q. Is smoking allowed in my rental property?
A. No, smoking is strictly prohibited in any of our vacation properties.
Q. Is there air-conditioning in my rental property?
A. Most properties do not have air conditioning since the average daily high temperature tends to hover around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months.
